we are in the middle of the golden October. So it is the perfect season to enter the colourful forest of the Kernberge-hills. In the beginning there will be a steep part, later it will be mainly a horizontal way.

Hello hikers,
we are in the middle of the golden October. So it is the perfect season to enter the colourful forest of the Kernberge-hills. In the beginning there will be a steep part, later it will be mainly a horizontal way (Saale-Horizontale). From there we will get amazing views on the woods and our city Jena.
Use an empty bottle to get the fresh water from the spring Fürstenbrunnen! Following the valley Pennickental along the brook, we will pass the rural district Wöllnitz. Of course there will be some breaks in between also to have our lunch.
The trip will end at the old bridge of Burgau or the tram station Burgaupark.
