After reaching the Schwarzatal and climbing the mountain using the Bergbahn, we will follow the trail of the Hunchback Pharmacists (Buckelapotheker). The approximately 7 km long hiking trail goes around the city of OberweiรŸbach. In the past, the town gained great economic importance through the trade of Olitaeten (Oleum = Oil). Wild herbs and the riches of the forest formed the raw materials for these healing medicines, which were distributed all over Europe by the so-called Hunchback Pharmacists. The production of remedies in family businesses and their special distribution were typical for the OberweiรŸbach area and unique in Germany. Even today, the Hunchback Pharmacist and the Herb Woman symbolize this tradition. On the Herbal Educational Path, a section of this trail, over 80 wild medicinal plants are native, which are signposted along the way. You can get more information about the plants on-site by scanning the respective QR codes with your smartphone.

Nachdem wir das Schwarzatal erreicht und den Berg mit der Bergbahn erklommen haben, werden wir dem Pfad der Buckelapotheker folgen. Der etwa 7 km lange Wanderweg fรผhrt um die Stadt OberweiรŸbach herum. In der Vergangenheit erlangte die Stadt durch den Handel mit Olitaeten (Oleum = ร–l) groรŸe wirtschaftliche Bedeutung. Wilde Krรคuter und die Schรคtze des Waldes bildeten die Rohstoffe fรผr diese Heilmittel, die von den sogenannten Buckelapothekern in ganz Europa vertrieben wurden. Die Herstellung von Heilmitteln in Familienbetrieben und deren besondere Vertriebsweise waren fรผr die Region OberweiรŸbach typisch und in Deutschland einzigartig. Noch heute symbolisieren der Buckelapotheker und die Krรคuterfrau diese Tradition. Auf dem Krรคuterlehrpfad, einem Abschnitt dieses Wanderwegs, sind รผber 80 heimische Wildkrรคuter zu finden, die entlang des Weges beschildert sind. Weitere Informationen zu den Pflanzen kรถnnen Sie vor Ort erhalten, indem Sie die entsprechenden QR-Codes mit Ihrem Smartphone scannen.
