Hello people,
This Sunday, the 1st of November, we are going to have a hike to the famous Thuringian Castle Leuchtenburg. We take the train until the station of Kahla from where the hike starts by crossing the Saale river on a tiny bridge and going up a steep hill and passing the impressive boulder Dohlenstein with its viewing point. (Hiking symbols: blue stripe on white ground + “ green L” for Lutherweg) Meanwhile we have breathtaking views on the valley and the forest.
The castle is situated at the top of the hill. For going back to Kahla we will take another hiking trail to have a round trip. (Hiking symbol: green stripe on white ground; this way is south of the way we come)
The special thing about this hike:
We will visit the exhibitions of the Leuchtenburg Castle, f.e. the “Porzellanwelten” for free. But only 15 people will be allowed to enter it. The rest of the people can roam around and have a lunch break.
